A year ago this month, a group of local residents who wanted to make a positive impact on projects that directly support the local community formed and next week they will hold their fifth quarterly meeting.

The 100+ People for Perry group will gather February 27th at La Poste.  Three randomly selected members will have the opportunity to share a five minute presentation about the cause they’re representing.  Members will then vote on which one they feel is most deserving and the selected non-profit project will receive a $100 check from each member.

In its first year the group supported the Sleep Space at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, Habitat for Humanity’s Rock the Block program, the Perry High School Student Needs Fund and Shop with a Cop program.

As of the last meeting in November there were 77 members in the group and new members are always welcome to attend and join.  Members are expected to commit to being at each quarterly meeting and contribute $100 toward the chosen project.

The meeting starts with a social gathering at 6:30pm and business begins at 7:00.
