The West Central Valley Wildcat wrestling team embarked upon just their second home meet of the season last night. They welcomed in the likes of AHSTW, Audubon, and Southwest Valley high schools.
As per the results released, the Wildcats walked away from their meet with a mark of 1-1 on the night. Their loss came at the hands of AHSTW who defeated the Wildcats 46-27. The Wildcats lost to a team with three top ranked individuals including class 1A’s 10th ranked 195 lb wrestler, 10th ranked 160 lb wrestler, and 6th ranked 145 lb wrestler. West Central Valley notched 5 victories in all comprised of two wins by fall from Riley Algreen (182 lbs) and Weston Pote (120 lbs), one win by forfeit by Alex Wells (285 lbs), one major decision win by Quest Brown (113 lbs) and one win by technical fall by Tye Joint (138 lbs).
The victory for the Wildcats came against Southwest Valley by the final tally of 48-33. The Wildcats accumulated 8 wins in all in that match up. The 8 victories were made up of 5 wins by fall from Jason Mayland (160 lbs), Riley Algreen (182 lbs), Quest Brown (113 lbs), Alex Wells (285 lbs), and Cole Sackett (145 lbs) while the remaining three wins came by way of three forfeit wins from Zak Custard (195 lbs), Weston Pote (120 lbs) and Tye Joint (138 lbs).
