stuart-police-departmentTwo men arrested for theft and burglary charges in Guthrie County were sentenced to probation this week.

Justin Parker was initially charged with third degree burglary and fifth degree theft after a home break in on Walnut Trail north of Stuart December 13, 2015.  Parker reached a plea deal and the charges were amended to attempted burglary.  He was handed a two-year, suspended prison sentence and two years of probation.  Parker was also charged with tampering with a witness or juror.  That charge was also amended in the plea deal and he was instead convicted of second degree harassment, which comes with another two-years probation and a 30 day suspended jail sentence.  Parker was also ordered to pay $4,456 in fines, surcharges and fees.

The second of three suspects in the case, Justin Subbert, also reached a plea deal.  He was convicted of attempted burglary and sentenced to two-years probation, a two year suspended prison sentence and ordered to pay $3,995 in fines, surcharges and fees.  His tampering with a witness charge was dismissed.

The third suspect, Ian Patterson has not yet been convicted.  He has a pre-trial conference continuation set for January 23rd.
