alliant energySome Alliant Energy customers in Perry will experience a brief, planned power outage tomorrow afternoon.

Spokesman Mike Wagner says the outage is expected to last around 10 minutes and will begin at 2pm.  He says they chose that time in an attempt to disrupt as few people as possible.

The energy company recently upgraded a substation to provide more reliable and safe service to customers.  This outage will is the result of switching from the old substation to the new one.

Just over 100 customers will be effected by the outage, including those who live on Sugar Creek, Southgate, Grove, Fifth, Seventh, Eighth and Tenth streets.
