A traffic ticket has been filed against a woman accused of being to blame for a crash that killed West Des Moines police officer last year.
According to court documents, 38 year-old Jeanette Keifer is charged with failure to yield upon a left turn. The charge stems from a crash on Highway 169 on August 3rd when Keifer’s vehicle collided with 47 year-old Sgt. Shawn Miller’s personal motorcycle as he was returning to West Des Moines after testifying in a case at the Dallas County courthouse in Adel. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene.
The charge against Keifer is enhanced due to it causing a crash that killed someone.
An order of continuance has been filed and Keifer will have her initial appearance on January 27th.
