weatherRoad conditions are still very poor in Guthrie County.

Fortunately, Sheriff Marty Arganbright says there has not been much traffic on the roads locally.  He attributes this to people getting permission from their employers to stay home and the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

Deputies have been out since last night helping motorists in need and a few vehicles have slid into ditches. County road crews have been applying sand and salt but area gravel roads are still reportedly 100% ice covered.

Arganbright advises citizens not to travel unless they have to, and if so, use extreme caution.

The Stuart Police Department says area sidewalks and roads are extremely slick. As temperatures change throughout the day, there will be times where roads will be completely ice covered. The department says sand and salt trucks are currently dealing with mechanical issues, and having a hard time getting material on the roads.  Police urge drivers to stay home if possible as the chance of an accident is extremely high.
