Greene County won two of three wrestling dual meets in Story City on Thursday night. Coach Mark Sawhill’s team won a non-conference dual with West Central Valley to start the evening, then split a pair of Heart of Iowa Activities Conference dual meets. Greene County finished 4-4 in the conference and is 9-13 overall.

The Rams won 43-30 over WCV, lost to Roland-Story 42-34, and downed North Polk (Alleman) 49-27.

Rams that went 3-0 on the night were junior Cayden Gerdes (132), sophomore Brock Wuebker (170), senior Isaiah Yoder (182), and senior Hunter Ruth (220). Gerdes had a major decision and two falls on the night. Wuebker won three times by fall, while Yoder had a decision, a forfeit, and a major decision. Ruth won by fall and collected two forfeits.

Greene County wrestlers going 2-1 were freshman Will Hansen (126), junior Isaac Ireland (152), and junior Britton Gallagher (160). Freshmen Braden Gallagher (106) and Garrett Tasler (113), junior Dale Morlan (120), freshman Marcus Rosenow (195), and junior Caden Wilson (285) each went 1-2.

R-S went won all three dual meets with WCV at 1-2, and NP 0-3.

The Rams go to Alleman for the HOIAC tournament at NP high school at 10 am. tomorrow.
