The first time Greene County and Roland-Story met in varsity basketball it was a girl/boy doubleheader split with the Norsemen winning the girls’ game and the Rams taking the boys’ contest. The second and final meeting of the season is tonight in Story City and both games can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Coverage begins at 5:45 p.m. with the girls playing at six o’clock and the boys to follow.

The R-S girls are 8-5 on the season and 5-4 in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference while the Greene County girls are 3-11 overall and 2-8 in the league. On the boys’ side, the Coach Chris Nelson’s Rams are 8-4 overall and 7-2 in conference play, and just one game out of first place. The Norsemen are 5-8 in boys’ basketball and 3-6 in the conference.

The Greene County boys are led in the scoring column by senior Trey Tucker, who enters tonight with 1,558 career points and a 23.8 scoring average this season, which is fourth among class 3A players, and number 12 in Iowa regardless of school size.
