There’s still no snow on the ground but it has been a relatively wet week here in the Raccoon River Valley.
According to the National Weather Service, Perry received over a quarter of an inch of rain since our last report for a total of 0.38 inch so far this month. That’s right on par with the normal amount in the first two weeks of the year. In terms of snow, just a trace amount has fallen so far and typically Perry receives around 1.8 inch by this point in the month.
Guthrie Center received 0.1 inch of rain this week for a total of 0.2 inch so far this month, around two-thirds of the normal amount. They too have seen a trace of snow where as more than two inches typically falls by this point in January.
There’s a chance rain, snow and ice Sunday and Monday.
