Perry’s David Roberts represented Perry to a first place finish in his age division at the recent Hoop Shoot Contest in Storm Lake.

Perry youth, David Roberts representing Elks Lodge 407, won the 12-13 year old boys District Hoop Shoot this past Saturday.  The format requires each contestant to shoot 25 free throws and Roberts claimed the title with an impressive 19 made free throws.  He defeated other kids from Ames, Estherville, Jefferson and Sioux City.  The victory qualifies Roberts for the State Hoop Shoot, which will be held February 7th in Grinnell.  A win at state would qualify Roberts to move onto the North Central Region 3 Hoop Shoot Semi’s in Iowa City.

Perry picked up three second place finishes and one third place finish.  Lydia Olejniczak, Karagyn Whelchel and Geren Kenney all claimed silver trophies in their respective age divisions.  Owen Myers placed 3rd for Perry.
