Several Perry representatives spent part of their weekend in Des Moines promoting several local events and causes.

An estimated 4,000 people attended the Iowa Bike Expo Saturday.

“It’s a great expo.  It’s a great way to promote Perry.  The neat thing is we’re down there with the Chamber, BRR, the Raccoon River Valley Bicycle shop and then we’ll have the Hotel Pattee as well as the Let’s Connect Perry committee all kind of in one big block.  I think that’s important, that we’re bringing such a force.  We put a lot of time and effort into promoting bicycle tourism and embracing cycling.  That’s really what we’re there to do, sell the town, sell the businesses, sell the amenities and get people to come to town.”

That’s Perry Chamber Executive Director Bob Wilson who says it can be all about making a good impression because who knows, maybe someone who finds out about the town at such an event ends up moving or opening a business here.
