Boone moved into sole possession of first place in the Raccoon River Conference after defeating Perry 57-42 in makeup competition.  The Toreadors outscored Perry 18-6 in the fourth quarter to earn the critical conference win.  Boone dominated the second and final quarters in securing their 5th conference win of the season.

The Toreadors carried a 31-16 lead into halftime only to see Perry storm back and cut it to 3 late in the 3rd quarter.  Connor Nielsen and Janier Puente provided a punch in the third quarter scoring a combined 11 points over a 5 minute stretch.  Perry had a tough time finishing around the basket for the first time thanks in large part to 6-6 center Gabe Krafcisin.  The senior who missed last year with a torn ACL, dominated the paint and scored 10 of his 12 points in the 4th quarter.  He also finished with 5 blocked shots.

Kyle Nevitt led Perry with 14 points while Nielsen added 11.  Tanner Schminke paced Boone with 14.

The Toreadors are now in sole possession of first place with a 5-2 mark.  Perry falls from first to a four way tie for third with a 4-3 conference record.  Perry, ADM, Carlisle and Winterset all trail Boone by a game.  Carroll is currently second with a 4-2 mark.

Perry begins a critical 2 game stretch at home starting Friday night when they host Carlisle.  Carroll will visit Perry on Tuesday.  Both games can be heard on KDLS.
