Jefferson City Council Approves $350,000 Amendment to Urban Renewal Plan

jefferson-city-council-1_10The Jefferson City Council met Tuesday night in regular session.

The Council approved a $351,000 amendment to the Urban Renewal Plan following a public hearing. The amendment includes the remaining balance on the overpass bridge project on Highway 4 and engineering and design costs for a storm drainage project on the north end of the City.

The Council also approved the second reading to amend an ordinance for traffic and speed regulations, appointed Ryan Stott and Guy Richardson to the airport commission, hired Caleb Jans as a police officer and set January 24th at 5:30pm for a public hearing a $1 million loan agreement.

Following a discussion, the Council decided to meet with the Greene County Board of Supervisors following one of their Monday meetings to discuss how a new animal shelter will be operated by the two entities.
