Jayettes Face Tall Order at Boone Tonight

January 10, 2017 6:27 am

The smallest team in the Raccoon River Conference will face off against one of the biggest and most talented tonight as the Perry Jayettes travel north to take on 8th ranked and 9-3 Boone.  The Toreadors will be looking to bounce back from a non-conference loss at Waverly Shell Rock on Saturday.  Boone is led by Claire Sandvig, who is averaging close to 18 points per game and has grabbed a team high 128 rebounds through the first 12 games this year.  Boone’s losses this year have all been out of conference with setbacks to Grinnell, Dallas Center Grimes and Waverly Shell Rock.

Perry will look to turn around their fortunes against a team that completely handled them last year.  Perry lost 3 lopsided games to Boone a season ago including a 75-36 trouncing in the Regional Semifinal.  The Jayettes enter play tonight with an impressive 9-3 record and currently sit 3-2 in RRC play.  You can listen to the game on KDLS and raccoonvalleyradio.com beginning at 6 tonight.  Boone’s season results posted below.
