weatherAn ice storm warning remains in effect until midnight for the entire Raccoon Valley Radio listening area.

Freezing rain began falling yesterday and is expected to continue through tonight. Dallas County Engineer Al Miller tells Raccoon Valley Radio, as of this morning all paved secondary roads in the county are 100% ice covered.  Travel is not advised. County maintenance crews have been out since early this morning treating area roadways.

The Iowa Department of Transportation reports area highways are partially covered with ice, with bridges and ramps especially slick.

If you do need to travel, please slow down, give yourself extra time to get to your destination and give the road crews plenty of room to work.

Stay tuned to the Raccoon Valley Radio network for updates.
