The Paton-Churdan High School basketball teams went to West Des Moines Monday night and swept a girl/boy doubleheader from Iowa Christian Academy. The Rockets won 61-35 in the girls’ game and 67-37 on the boys’ side.

The Rockets won a girls’ game for the first time this season after starting with nine losses in a row. ICA fell to 1-6. Jenna Beyers scored 35 points for P-C, a career high, and Grace Geisler added 21, also her highest point total. The Rockets took 77 shots, making 24, and were eight of 21 from the free throw line. Coach Tom Kennedy’s team committed just 15 turnovers.

Neither P-C team is scheduled to play the rest of this week.
