Flying high was the ADM Lady Tiger basketball team heading into last night’s contest after having acquired their first winning streak of the season after back to back wins  this past Friday and Saturday night.

Last night would be a tough follow up at home as the Lady Tigers would enter into their first contest of the season against the Carlisle Lady Wildcats. ADM would hold strong in the first half of play but a combination of poor shooting and lock down Carlisle defense put the Lady Tigers in a second half hole which would eventually lead to a 56-39 defeat. The closest ADM got to within striking distance was at the end of the first quarter down 15-9 while several missed offensive opportunities gave the Wildcats the opportunity to increase the lead to a 31-21 halftime score.

In the second half, ADM did a good job a knifing through Carlisle’s 1-2-2 full court pressure defense, only to implode upon themselves with a double digit turnover half. The Carlisle duo of Agatha Beir and Meredith Hoffman kept ADM out of the paint for the most part in half number two and the Lady Tigers just could not find an answer from the perimeter connecting on just 1 of 9 from beyond the arc. The Lady Tigers were held to just 7 third quarter points and despite pouring in 11 points in the fourth quarter, the Lady Wildcats would match that and more posting up 16 points of their own in the final stanza to take the win.

Sydney Bertman came away as the teams leading scorer on the night dropping in 13 points while plucking a team leading 7 rebounds off the glass. Allie Cook came in close second on the night with 10 points overall, owner of the teams only two three point buckets made on the night. Leading the way for Carlisle was the senior/freshmen duo of Hailey Brunsen and Meredith Hoffman both notching 14 points on the night closely followed by Agatha Beir with 11 points.

The Lady Tigers now watch their overall record drop to 5-7, and their conference record decrease to 3-3 with the loss while Carlisle adds their 8th win overall and improving their conference mark to 4-2. ADM remains at home for their next game this Friday where they welcome in the only unbeaten team in conference play, the Boone Lady Toreadors.
