It was the annual run at non conference rival Dallas Center-Grimes last night for the ADM Tiger Lady Tiger basketball team as they took a short break from conference play.

The Lady Tigers were looking to grab at least one win away from their three game home stand but early scoring trouble had ADM down early and the Fillies would end up extract revenge from last years play off loss defeating ADM 49-33.

ADM held close in the first quarter down by just five, 10-15 but the second quarter would see a rapid halt in the Lady Tigers’ offensive production scoring just 2 second quarter points to end the first half down 12-28. The Lady Tigers went into the intermission 3/14 from field goal range while missing all six of their first half shots from beyond the arc. ADM found more offensive rythm in the second half coming out of the halftime break strong and ending the third quarter on an 11-7 run. The Fillies would match ADM’s third quarter scoring surge with one of their own in the final quarter outscoring the Lady Tigers 14-10 thanks in part to Jenna Borchers 5 made free throws late int he fourth to seal the 49-33 win.

Sydney Bertman had another solid night overall pouring in a team leading 12 points and 11 rebounds. Right behind Bertman in scoring total would be Allie Cook, owner of 2 of ADM’s three mad shots from beyond the arc attributing to 9 points total for the senior.

As she has many times this season, junior Jenna Borchers led the Fillies in scoring total notching 19 points on the night.

With the loss, ADM now drops to 5-9 overall while the Fillies see their record climb to 8-6 keeping ADM to just two wins over Dallas Center-Grimes in ten seasons. Next up on the docket for the Lady Tigers will be a round two match up against the Lady Bombers in Huxley this Friday night.
