The latest state population trends released by the Iowa Legislative Services Agency (LSA) shows significant growth in one local county, and a decline in three others.
According to estimates released by the LSA and the U.S. Census Bureau, Dallas County has seen its population increase by 20% from 2010 to 2015, making it the fastest growing county in the state. It represents a jump of over 13,000 residents.
Decline was reported throughout the rest of the area over the six-year period, especially in more rural populations. A 5.7% drop was reported in Adair County, a 2.5% drop was reported in Guthrie County, and a 3.5% drop was reported in Greene County.
