The ACGC Charger basketball teams took a quick break from West Central Activities conference play taking to the road in Anita last night against CAM high school.

Head coach James Blythe and the Lady Chargers were looking to find their way back into the win column but low scoring second and third quarters caused their downfall 57-48. The Charger boys were in the hunt for a second straight win but could not come up with enough points loosing 44-32.

The Lady Chargers have certainly turned their first quarter scoring woes around notching 15 in quarter number one last night but fell ice cold in the second quarter with just 6 points. That sent ACGC into the half down 27-21 but as they went into the second half, they notched just 9 points and despite an 18 point fourth quarter, the deficit was too large to overcome. With the loss the Lady Chargers have now dropped their last 6 games and drop to 3-11 overall.

The Chargers boys suffered a similar fate faltering late in a 44-32 defeat. With the loss, ACGC will have to wait just a little bit longer to acquire that win streak dropping to 1-12.

It’s another quick turnaround for both Charger teams as they host Panorama tonight. Both teams seek to even the season series against the Panthers and it will all start with the girls contest at 6:00 pm followed by the boys game at 7:30 pm.
