It was a Guthrie County showdown between the Panorama Lady Panthers and the West Central Valley Lady Wildcats last night.

It was a true rivalry game fought very hard on both sides but for the Lady Wildcats, they would fall just short loosing to the Lady Panthers by the final tally of 49-60.

The game was as close as it could be after one quarter of play all tied up at 16-16 which increased slightly at the half with West Central Valley down 30-26. The third quarter saw Panorama turn the slight four point lead into a bigger lead and increasing ever so more in the fourth quarter as the 30-26 halftime score turned into the 49-60 final score.

Senior Kristin Culp led the way offensively posting up 15 points total off of a 50% shooting night from the floor combined with 5 total rebounds. Right behind her was sophomore Joelle Grubbs putting up 14 points, which was partially comprised of a team leading three 3 point buckets made. Jennifer Dudley came away with the best overall night as the senior put up 10 points with a team best 7 rebounds added onto a perfect 2-2 from the free throw line.

The Lady Wildcats fall to 0-1 in conference play with a 1-2 overall record. They will get the chance to even that record up with a non conference home match up today against Ankeny Christian Academy as part of a double header for West Central Valley. Girls game will do the honors of starting first at 3:30 pm followed by the boys contest at 5:00 pm.
