An Adair woman was killed in a two vehicle crash Wednesday night .
According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 1998 Oldsmobile Intrique driven by 30 year-old Derek Eugene Ueligger of Creston was heading southbound in the northbound lane of Highway 25, near 330th Street, around 9:30pm. A 2012 Chevrolet Impala driven by 82 year-old Betty Jean Schultz of Greenfield was traveling northbound when the two vehicles collided head on. Schultz’s vehicle came to rest in the ditch and Ueligger’s stopped in the middle of the roadway.
A passenger in Schultz’s impala, 88 year-old Dawn Christiensen of Adair, was killed in the crash. Two other passengers, 85 year-old Norma Caltrider of Adair and 89 year-old Marilyn Ehrsam of Greenfield, were injured. Caltrider was airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. Schultz and Ehrsam were taken to the Adair Hospital via Adair Rescue, while Ueligger was transported via EMS to Greater Regional Hospital.
