Greene County head football coach Dean Lansman has released 2016 final season statistics through QuikStats Iowa online. The Rams were 1-8 overall and 1-6 in Class 3A District 2 with the lone win coming in week eight vs. Perry in the “Cowbell” game. The Rams played a schedule with the second best winning percentage among the 56 teams in 3A with its nine opponents going 51-30 in the regular season. Only Marion High School at 53-28 had a better record for its opponents.

The Rams had an average of 208.33 yards per game with 118 on the ground and 90.33 in the air. Greene County scored just under 12 points per game (11.77) while giving up 32.33 per contest.

Senior Trey Tucker was the leading rusher at 657 yards and six touchdowns. He had 146 carries and averaged 4.5 yards per carry. Sophomore Clint Dennhardt was the leading passer at 56 for 171 for a completion rate of just under 33%. He threw for 786 yards and six TDs with seven interceptions. Senior Nick Schroeder was the top receiver with 19 catches for 444 yards and four touchdowns. Schroeder averaged 23.4 yards per catch.

Junior Joe Towers led the team in tackles with 78 combined solo and assisted stops. Linebackers Jake Berns, a junior, and Tucker, were second and third at 64.5 and 50, respectively.
