At the meeting, payroll change notices were approved for the conservation, case management and Emergency Medical Services department, along with the Sheriff’s office.

Dana Wernimont with Design Alliance stated that concrete has been poured out front at the north campus and the punch list items should be completed this week.  IT Director Todd Noah says they’re still waiting on media equipment for the conference rooms but that should be delivered soon.  Operations Administrator Rob Tietz said dirt work will still be completed in the near future.  He also asked the Board when they can start opening the facilities up to other entities to use.  The County is waiting to get the rest of the media equipment in place and determine how they want to go about offering the space, and to who.  Wernimont then said that crews are working on painting of the 902 Court Street building and wrapping up the first phase of the project, with the second phase likely starting around Thanksgiving.

An easement and disposal agreement with Des Moines Area Community College was the discussed.  DMACC plans to use manure on the County farm property they manage.  The agreement was approved as presented.

Next the Board reviewed and approved appropriations.  Transfers of $480,000 from the rural basic clearing fund to the secondary roads special fund, $250,000 from the general basic fund to the public health nursing fund, $641,151 from the general basic fund to the conservation fund, $1,750,000 rural services fund to the secondary roads fund and $247,980 from the general basic fund to the secondary road fund.

Tietz then reviewed the first fiscal year budget amendment and set a public hearing for the November 15th Supervisors meeting.

County Engineer Al Miller then shared an update on the R16 project, he says depending on the rain this week, they’re hoping to have seeding done this week and construction barriers and signs removed, with an official opening next week.
