acgcThe certified enrollment is in for Adair-Casey and Guthrie Center School districts.

Shared Superintendent Steve Smith says Guthrie Center School District saw an increase of ten students this year for a total of 464.3 students, while Adair-Casey School District saw a decrease of 5.4 students down to 300.2. Smith explains what students are accounted for in the certified enrollment report.

“We actually get to count full students, with students that are of kindergarten-age up to 12th grade. And then pre-schoolers, we’re able to have 50 percent of the authorized amount that each student in a regular setting. They count as half a student.”

However, those students are either open enrollment out or into the district are not counted toward the certified enrollment numbers that are submitted to the Iowa Department of Education.
