Jefferson Matters: Main Street is hosting another Business After Hours event later tonight.

Program Director Peg Raney says Main Street Iowa Design Consultant Tim Reinders will be the featured speaker, talking about window restoration and replacement. Since the City is a Main Street Iowa community, Reinders provides free design conceptual drawings for business owners in the downtown district.

About 19 building owners have taken advantage of the free service. Reinders support was also instrumental in getting the $1 million Community Development Block Grant from the Iowa Economic Development Authority. Just this past year alone, six businesses received help from Reinders including Unger Insurance, RVP~1875, Doc’s Stadium, Sparetime Lanes, Jefferson Public Library and Don’s Ace Hardware.

The event will take place at the Jefferson Elk’s Lodge tonight starting at 5:15pm with a social hour and refreshments served, followed by the program at 5:45pm.

It is free and open to the public and no pre-registration is necessary.
