Class 2A number 7 CMB (Maxwell) was a 10-0 high school softball winner over Greene County on Wednesday night in Jefferson. The Raiders are 16-4 overall and 11-1 in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference while the Rams fell to 4-13 and 2-8.

Winning pitcher Abbey Kahler fanned seven Rams while walking none. An infield single by Megan Durbin in the first inning and a third inning opposite field single to left by Kyla Beyers were the only hits off Kahler, who improved her record to 6-4.

Jenna Beyers was the starting and losing pitcher for Rams. Hannah Promes pitched in relief.

The Raiders scored four times in the first inning, when the Rams committed three errors. CMB had two runs in the second and four in the fourth.
Greene County had only three base runners and just one made it as made as second base.

The Rams play North Polk in Alleman tonight.
