homecoming promo floatThe Perry homecoming parade returns tomorrow and everyone is encouraged to help Paint Perry Blue.

The Perry Chamber Board has been working with the community school district, local businesses and organizations for the past couple years in preparation for the tradition’s return. Executive Director Bob Wilson says its an exciting time to be a Bluejay and Jayette fan.

“It has been in full force, we’ve had nothing but positive feedback on this.  I know the Chamber Board of Directors has been working very, very hard with the classes on building the floats, there’s going to be epic floats involved.  Great participation from everywhere.  The full band is going to be involved, to PACES, to the elementary students, the cross country team, football team, businesses, everybody’s getting behind this.”

Mike and Shari Garber have been selected for the Chamber’s Community Spirit Award and will serve as grand marshals for the parade.

Whether you want to have an entry into the parade or just watch it tomorrow night, it’s not too late.

Lineup begins at the high school at 5:30pm with the parade heading west on Willis Avenue towards downtown at 6pm.  Afterwards the floats will be on display on 2nd Street and there will be a community cookout near Raccoon Valley Bank.
