According to the Boone County Attorney’s office, 42 year-old Michael Lee Eastman was sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to a Class B Felony for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.

The charge stems from an investigation on June 13th. A Boone County Deputy noticed Eastman’s vehicle had a brake light out while driving on Highway 30. When Eastman pulled his vehicle over on E Avenue, the deputy observed Eastman acting suspicious when he walked around his vehicle. When the deputy made contact with Eastman, he gave him a fake name. When the deputy asked for dispatch to send him information based on what Eastman originally stated, it didn’t match his description. Eastman eventually gave his real name and told the deputy he had a meth pipe in his pocket. He was then arrested for the pipe.

Later, deputies searched the vehicle before it was towed and found about 3.5 grams of marijuana, several small baggies, a measuring cup and over ten grams of meth. Eastman was sentenced on September 19th and is eligible for parole after five of his 25-year prison sentence.
