emergency managementSeptember is National Preparedness Month and local leaders encourage you to have an emergency preparedness plan for you and your immediate family.

Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management Coordinator Bob Kempf recommends taking it a step further and considering other important individuals in your plan. “As far as other things, would be planning on what to do with your pets, as far as care needs for them in case something happens. Plus, those of us that take care of our folks or other elderly people, is making sure their plan is up to date, too.”
Kempf recommends reviewing your emergency plan with your family on a regular basis. Stay tuned to Raccoon Valley Radio for the latest information when emergencies happen, including our participation in the national Emergency Alert System (EAS) test, which is scheduled for tomorrow at 1:20 p.m.
