Wild Rose Jefferson celebrated its first-year anniversary this past weekend with an outdoor concert with Hairball.

Since the gaming and entertainment facility first opened more than a year ago, nearly 500,000 people from 22 states have been in the casino. Additionally, 25,000 people have attended shows, concerts, meetings or conventions in The Greene Room. There have been 20 events held at the convention center since August 2015, including 14 concert.

Wild Rose officials estimate at least 2,000 people visit per month for other reasons than to gamble. Thirty-three percent of people that have visited Wild Rose live more than 100 miles away. There have also been 120 non-casino functions at Wild Rose.

As part of the agreement with Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation, five percent of the casino’s adjusted gross revenue will be allocated to the non-profit organization, which gave away nearly $1.1 million to various entities and projects in Greene County and surrounding counties.
