jake chapmanRepublican presidential candidate Donald Trump recently selected Indiana Governor Mike Pence as his running mate and the world got to hear from him at the Republican National Convention last week.

As we’ve reported, District 10 State Senator Jake Chapman of Adel was in Cleveland for the event and says he feels Pence is a good choice.

“I think Mike Pence brings a whole new set of beliefs and principles to the ticket that shores up a lot of the further conservatives, if you will, within the Republican base.  He is very well known for taking hard stances on controversial issues but is no doubt a solid conservative.  So I think with him being on the ticket it gives some ease to some folks as to Donald Trump being the president.”

Chapman says this upcoming election is about far more than just the next few years.

“This election has much more of an impact.  It is not four years, it’s not eight years, we’re talking about the next 40 to 50 years of how the United States is going to be run through the Supreme Court.  This next president is going to be appointing several Supreme Court Justices. And for that reason alone, Republicans and Independents should strongly consider supporting Donald Trump, knowing what’s going to happen over the next 40 to 50 years if the Supreme Court justice becomes even further to the left.”
Chapman will share more of his thoughts with us on today’s Let’s Talk Dallas County during the 9am, noon and 5pm hours.
