A Rippey man is in jail and faces felony charges for domestic abuse.

Greene County Sheriff Steve Haupert says 37 year-old William Russell Griffin is charged with felonies for solicitation to commit a felony and domestic abuse assault with intent to inflict injury.

The charges stem from an investigation that was initiated on June 20th when a deputy responded to a report on the alleged domestic abuse incident that occurred in Rippey. The victim had bruises on her arms and legs and told the deputy that Griffin had pulled her off of the bed by her ankle and put his foot on her chest. Additionally, Griffin tried to pay a friend to keep the victim from showing up in court on the matter.

An arrest warrant was issued on June 22nd. Sheriff Haupert and another deputy transported Griffin from the Dallas County Jail to the Greene County Jail on Tuesday, June 28th, following Griffin’s arrest in Perry on Sunday after an incident with a juvenile.

Griffin was booked and remains in the Greene County Jail.
