Our review of the Greene County High School year in sports 2015-16 continues with Activities Director Dean Lansman talking about Nick Schroeder, who will be a senior. He ran on the Rams’ State Meet qualifying 4 x 400 meter relay in May, placed seventh in the 50 yard freestyle and eighth in the 100 yard freestyle for Boone in the swimming pool at February’s State Meet, and was an all-district receiver for the Rams last fall in football. Oh, by the way, Schroeder is a kicker of note, having made his last 60 extra point kicks, including all of his attempts each of the past two seasons.

On the kicker/swimmer combination, Coach Lansman said, “It’s an unusual combination, but he’s a true athlete. He works hard! You see him uptown at The Fieldhouse working out, he’s in the weight room three mornings a week, and he’s part of a group of guys that go out to the football field and play catch two to three times a week. He’s very good at what he does, and he’d be a heck of a soccer player, but he ran track this year instead of soccer. It’s nice to have him back for that Senior year!”

Nick also has been undefeated on the Jefferson Swim Team the past several summers through the Jefferson Park & Recreation Department.
