The Jefferson Street/Sewer/Water/Sanitation committee met Tuesday in regular session.

The committee mainly talked about establishing a fee for the yard waste dump site and reviewed commercial dumpster rental fees.

The committee discussed a $1 yard waste fee to help offset the cost for the City to chip and grind down the materials that residents leave at the yard waste site at Daubendiek Park. On average, it costs the City about $20,000 to grind down the materials every year.

The committee also talked about raising the commercial dumpster rental rates. Currently, the monthly commercial dumpsters rate for service is $9.95 and it is $7.35 per dump for a one and a half yard dumpster. It was recommended to raise the rates to $10.45 for monthly service charge and $7.72 for the one and a half yard dumpsters per dump.

The committee is expected to make a report during Tuesday’s City Council meeting.
