dc conservationA special program, hosted by the Dallas County Conservation Board this summer aims to teach families how to eat healthy on a budget.

The Eat Well on $6 a Day program will take place at the Forest Park Museum on Sunday, August 14th.

Museum Curator Pete Malmberg explains.

“Cut down on food costs with a strategic approach to meal planning and shopping.  Learn about food that can give you the best taste and nutrition for your money and the keys to serving lower cost meals.  (You will) go home with your own cookbook of low cost, Iowa recipes from (Iowa State University) Extension, grocery lists, menu plans and shopping strategies.”

The program is designed for ages 16 and up and the cost to participate is $2, with an additional $5 for the cookbook.

Advanced registration is required as the program will be cancelled if not enough people sign up by August 10th.

To reserve your spot, stop by the Forest Park Museum or call 465-3577.
