There’s a new County Recorder in Guthrie County.

The Board of Supervisors unanimously appointed Deputy Recorder Tristen Richard, Tuesday, to take over for Jacki Sloss, who retired at the beginning of this month.
Richard, who tells Raccoon Valley Radio she’s excited about the appointment, says she’s gained all the tools to do the job well after working in the office for 20 years. “I just recently completed a certified recorder’s program. I feel like I have a good relationship with other area county recorders, plus all of the local banks, attorneys and the Guthrie County Abstract Company. I look forward to continuing that service with them.”
Richard adds that although she may make a few, minor, behind-the-scenes tweaks in how the office is run, residents should see no difference in the good service they’ve come to expect from the Recorder’s office.
To continue her service beyond November, Richard must be nominated by the Republican Party and win the election on November 8th. Nobody from either party has filed paperwork in opposition of her as of Tuesday.
