The 2016 Greene County Fair ended on Monday.

The junior premium auction raised over $28,000, which Fair Board President Bob Allen says is one of their highest amounts ever. The money was raised through community supporters in recognition of the over 200 4-H’ers and the work they did, along with their achievements at the fair.

Other results included 39 static exhibits qualified for the Iowa State Fair, soon-to-be Greene County High School junior Kara Betts was crowned as the fair queen and Mason Burkett was the round robin showmanship champion.

Allen adds that they’ve rescheduled the rodeo that was rained out on Sunday, July 17th. It has been rescheduled to Saturday, August 6th. Those who purchased advanced tickets, can use them that evening. Tickets will be available at the gate for $10 per person and $5 for those ages five and under. Any 4-H’er that wears this year’s county fair t-shirt will get in for free.
