Funeral services for Merle Schaefer, 89, of Greenfield, will be Monday at 11 am at the Greenfield United Methodist Church.  Burial will be in the Greenfield Cemetery.  Full military rites will be conducted by the Greenfield American Legion Post 265 and VFW Post 5357.  A luncheon will be held at the church following the services at the cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday from noon to 4 pm at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield.  Family will be present from 2 pm to 4 pm.  Memorials may be made to the Merle Schaefer Memorial Fund to be established by the family at a later date.  Online condolences may be left for the family at steenfunerals.com.  Survivors include:  Wife, Jean of Greenfield.  Daughters, Elaine Haines of Creston, Janet Gentle of Milford, Mary Kay Shannon of Greenfield and Joann Davis of Greenfield.  12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
