With summer beginning earlier this week and the warmer temperatures already upon us, it’s a good idea to be reminded of some guidelines for the Jefferson Municipal Pool.

The pool will open when the air temperature is 65 degrees and sunny or 68 degrees during a cloudy day. If morning lessons have been cancelled, the pool will reopen at 1pm, weather permitting. If lightning or thunder are in the area, the pool will close for a 20-minute time period after each lightning strike or the sound of thunder occurs. If the pool closes after 5:30pm because of weather, it will remain closed for the rest of the day.

Adult lap swim is from 11:30am to 1pm, with open swim time from 1 to 8pm and the family hour is from 5:30 to 6:30pm.
