It was a rough night for the ADM baseball team last night in their rematch with the Bondurant-Farrar Blue Jays.

The Tigers had optimism heading into game number two against Bondurant-Farrar after a down to the wire game in their first match up earlier in the season. While the Blue Jays did take a narrow win against the Tigers in game one, last night’s game two would witness a vastly different outcome.

The game started off quickly for Bondurant-Farrar who erupted for three runs in the first inning off of a sacrifice fly from Casy Zarr and an RBI double by Peyton Duit. The offensive explosion from the Blue Jays would continue on as they would chase ADM starter Joey Harrison off the mound after less than two innings of work slapping the senior with 5 earned runs off of five hits and 3 walks. Bondurant-Farrar would plate no less than 2 runs in all but the 4th inning as the crowd witnessed 8 of 9 Blue Jay batters record a hit with 7 out of 9 batters recording at least one RBI in the contest.

After the three run first inning, 2 runs scored in the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th innings as the Blue Jays cushioned their lead all the way to 9-0 before the Tigers would show signs of life on the score board. It was a bottom of the fifth inning RBI single from Dalton Hews that would end the scoring drought for the Tigers as part of a 1-4 night from him at the plate.

The sixth inning saw equal offensive production from both teams; each sending three runners across the plate. Bondurant-Farrar’s Jarrid Clark would start things off for the Blue Jays in the sixth with his fifth consecutive hit; part of a 6 hit night for the center fielder. He would later score off a wild pitch for the first run of the inning which was followed up with one of 5 RBI’s on the night from Peyton Duit. After limiting the 6th inning damage to just three runs the Tigers would score three of their own off of RBI singles from Trey Volz, Kinnick Sutton, and Jack O’Brien who has a good night going 3-4 on the game.

Just when it looked like ADM was mounting a comeback, Bondurant-Farrar would put up their best offensive inning of the season driving in 9 runs in the top half of the 7th inning alone increasing the Blue Jay lead 21-4. Despite a late inning rally by ADM, the Tigers could only answer with one run in the bottom of the seventh as Bondurant-Farrar would roll to a 21-5 lead.

The Blue Jays ended the game earning 21 runs off of 18 hits, giving up just 2 errors. The Tigers played well enough to put up a fight and a win any other night with 5 runs pushed across the plate off of 12 hits, however they did give up 4 errors on the night.

Brandon Johnson would get the win on the mound for Bondurant-Farrar tossing 7 full innings giving up 4 earned runs, 12 hits, one walk, and 6 strikeouts.

With the win Bondurant-Farrar improves to 12-8 on the season pushing their RRC record up to 4-5 while the ADM Tigers drop to 3-18 and 2-10 in conference play. The Tigers will have a weekend of rest before they start things back up next Monday when they welcome in the Winterset Huskies for a home match up which will commence at 7:30.
