Rob SchultzJefferson Pizza Ranch owner, accused of setting his business on fire, has entered a plea in Greene County District Court.

According to court documents, 53 year-old Robert Schultz Jr. of Ankeny, pled not guilty to a Class B Felony for first degree arson, a Class C Felony for first degree criminal mischief and a Class D Felony for insurance fraud.

The alleged incident occurred just after midnight on January 27th. The Jefferson Fire and Police departments determined that there were multiple points of origin throughout the restaurant that led them to believe the fire was intentionally set.

The investigation is ongoing at this time, with charges against additional suspects pending.

Court documents also show that Schultz has waived his right to a speedy trial.  His pre-trial conference is scheduled for July 18th and the jury trial is slated to begin August 23rd.
