summer readingTeens in the Perry area have a lot of fun ahead with the summer reading program at the Perry Public Library.

Sticking with the Exercise Your Mind: Read theme, librarian Misty VonBehren says they’re looking forward to an active summer.

“We have workout Wednesday and we have fitness Fridays. So you’re guaranteed that there’s going to be a program for teens every Wednesday and every Friday at 2pm.  I’m going with not only the physical (aspects) like exercise, but also some mental capabilities. So we’re going to do lots of gaming, you know we’re going to play Scattergories, we’re going to play card games, we’re going to do a calm and colorful (activity) for teens.  We’re also going to do some yoga, a scavenger hunt and then we’re going to do frisbee golf at Wiese Park, which I think sounds awesome and the kids are excited about that.”

There is no cost to take part in the summer reading program and registration is now open with programs kicking off in early June.

To sing up, stop by the library or call 465-3569.
