For fans of ADM athletics, the weekend came a little early this week with an action packed Friday.

ADM track hit the big stage of the second day of the Drake Relays yesterday. On the boys side Jacob West earned his spot in the Drake Relays thanks to a 6″4′ jump landed him in the field of 24. West unfortunately did not clear the opening height. On the girls side it was senior Maggi Bjustrom who stole the show as she broke a 46 year old 100 meter hurdle ADM school record in the prelims as she notched 14.66. That time landed her in the final field of eight where Bjustrom earned 7th place with a time of 15.09. Bjustrom is still class 3A’s leader in the 100 meter hurdles.

Next up was the ADM boys golf team as they battled a dreary Friday. The Tigers took a swing at the Winterset Invitational in Winterset. As team, ADM took second on the invitational while individually, Micah Moyer came away with the lowest ADM round and a 5th place finish overall.

The ADM/Van Meter girls soccer team capped off such an auspicious day by remaining perfect on the season. The Lady Tigers took to 8-0 on the season thanks to a 2-0 win against the Blue Jays of Bondurant-Farrar.
