perry schoolsPerry High School students recently performed well at the Academic Decathlon.

The team, under the direction of French teacher Teresa Kresse, placed third in the small school division.

Cole Whitney finished first overall in the Scholastic group out of nine subject areas. In the economics category, Whitney finished first, Jairo Murillo second and Kyla Devilbiss third in the scholastic division and Lorena Andrade earned second place in the varsity division.

In language and literature, Elizabeth Sanchez placed third in the honors division, Devilbiss got third in scholastic and Abbilyn Fuller placed second in the varsity division.

Whitney also earned a first place finish in the scholastic division for mathematics, while Roselin Gonzalez was first in the varsity division and Larena Andrade was third.

Whitney and Murillo tied for first in the scholastic music category while Lorena Andrade earned first in the varsity division.

In the science subject, Whitney and Murillo tied again for third place in the scholastic division and Loren Andrade received third in varsity.

Whitney and Devilbiss tied for first in the scholastic art category and Rosen Gonzales placed second in varsity.

Sanchez and Alicia Caleron tied for second in the honors division of the social science category, while Whitney and Murillo tied for third in scholastic, Fuller and Roselin Gonzales tied for first in varsity and Lorena Andrade finish second.
