The Greene County boys play their final home game of the basketball season tomorrow night with the PCM (Monroe) Mustangs visit the middle school gym in Jefferson. Air time on KG98 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com is approximately 7:15 p.m. The contest is also the regular season finale for both teams. The Rams won the first meeting a month ago in Monroe by a 76-54 score for one of their more impressive victories of the season.

This is a Ram team that’s been impressive, but away from Jefferson, not at home as is the case with the majority of basketball teams. Coach Jeramie Hinote’s squad is 9-10 overall, but just a 2-7 record in Jefferson and a 7-3 mark on the road. The Rams have won six in a row away from home starting with the win in Monroe. The latest victory was on Tuesday night when Greene County went to Story City and won 64-62 in overtime vs. Roland-Story. During the road winning streak the Rams have averaged 60.5 points and given up 49.8 points.

On the season, Greene County averages 57.5 on offense and 60.0 on defense. In Jefferson, the offensive average is 53.3 while the defensive average is 59.3. On the road the offense is averaging 61.2 points and giving up 60.6.

Following Friday night’s contest, the Rams are off until they open Class 3A District tournament play on Monday, Feb. 22 in Harlan vs. Carroll High at 6:30 p.m. on KG98 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
