Within the next several years, Greenfield artist Bubba Sorensen hopes to have a Freedom Rock painted in each of Iowa’s 99 counties.

Sorensen now has a bigger mission for his project, aiming to paint a Freedom Rock in each of the 50 states. He says that was his goal all along. “The 50 state tour was actually the original venture. That was my original idea. My wife and I decided at the last minute to scale it back and just do every county in Iowa.”

Sorensen adds that the national tour is still in the planning stages, though he has had correspondence with interested individuals in several states.
