With progress comes financial goals and for Greene County Medical Center, their capital campaign goal was reached near the end of 2015.

The “Investing in Tomorrow’s Care” capital campaign surpassed its goal of $4 million with two large donations of $100,000 each from Wild Rose Casino and Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation. The campaign started in February of 2014 with an anonymous $2 million donation. By January 2015, the campaign was close to 80 percent complete.

Committee Co-Chair Rick Morain says their $4 million campaign was the largest non governmental fundraising effort the county has ever had and he’s delighted to celebrate the success with everyone in achieving their goal.

Phase one was completed last September with the 52,000-square foot expansion on the east side of the medical center. Phase two is currently ongoing with renovations to the lower levels of the facility and creating a walkway on the south side to connect the main entrance to the lower levels.

Chief Executive Officer Carl Behne says “This combined gift clearly shows the commitment that Wild Rose Casino and the Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation has to helping this community grow.  We are extremely grateful for both of these gifts.”

A full listing of those making donations in 2015 will be in the upcoming medical center’s “Always” publication, which will be available the first week of February.
