STUART SIGN

A program featuring the stories and experiences of ‘Little House on the Prairie’ novelist Laura Ingalls Wilder will take place in Stuart this weekend.

Sarah Uthoff, of Cedar Rapids, is a re-enactor and will tell the stories from Ingalls Wilder’s perspective. The Stuart Public Library is sponsoring the event, which takes place 7 p.m. Sunday at West Central Valley High School, and Director Sandy Pollard says the program will have a culinary theme. “It’s about 1930 and she’s in Laura’s kitchen and she’s dealing with all of the food that’s coming in from the garden. She’s got lots of produce. She’ll make biscuits, ginger water, dried plums and more, depending on the season.”

The event is free and open to the public. Pollard will tell us more about the program and other upcoming library events today on Let’s Talk Guthrie County. It airs during the 9 a.m., noon and 5 p.m. hours on K107.9 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
