Harvest season appears to be right on track in the Dallas County area.

Tri-County Ag Agronomic Specialist Sean Schroeder tells Raccoon Valley Radio the weather has been been cooperating so far as growers work to get their crops out of the fields.

Schroeder says based on the farmers he has talked with and what he’s seeing in the countryside, soybean yields are better than expected across the board, which he believes is the consensus across the state.

As far as corn goes, Schroeder says it too is doing a little better than expected.  Despite the overly wet conditions this year, he says growers are seeing tremendous yields for both crops so far.
